The James Foundation has a goal of improving the quality of life in DeKalb County, including providing educational opportunities for its youth.
The James Foundation offers three competitive scholarships to graduates of High Schools in DeKalb County. The renewable scholarships offered are:

The Center for Scholarship Administration Inc. (CSA), a nonprofit, independent organization, is the facilitator of the scholarship fund. CSA’s goal is to help students by providing a unique opportunity for corporations and foundations to offer scholarship funds to worthy students.
LaGrange County REMC awards three $1,000 scholarships annually to help area students further their education at an accredited college or trade school of their choice.
Applicants must be an actively enrolled senior in good standing from LaGrange County REMC’s service area, and the primary residence of his/her parent or legal guardian must be served electricity by the cooperative.
The Floretta A. Clancy Memorial Scholarship was established in 1974 as a memorial to Mrs. Floretta A. Clancy, a charter member of the Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Clancy was a dedicated teacher who sought to enhance the lives of all who came under her tutelage. It is the aim of the sorority that the scholarship be made available to students of African American Heritage, male or female, who have demonstrated academic promise, community involvement, financial need, and are planning to pursue or continue education beyond high school at an accredited institution of higher education.
This scholarship is intended for students in and/or from the Fort Wayne area only. Previous applicants, including previous recipients, may re-apply for this scholarship each year and be considered upon meeting all the requirements at the time of applying. Please note that students that are immediate family members (first and second generation) of financial and non-financial members of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. are not eligible to apply.
The Indiana Electric Cooperatives Managers’ Association Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship given to ten outstanding students each year. The purpose of this scholarship is to help further the education of the sons and daughters of Indiana electric co-op directors and employees, and to give them the chance to be more aware about energy industry careers.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the following provisions will govern the acceptance of applicants from the local cooperatives:
*Proper vocational or technical school means one beyond high school where credits can be transferred to a state-accredited four-year college.
Northeastern REMC will be selecting two students from eligible applicants to receive $1000 college scholarships.
Selection criteria will be based on scholastic achievement, school involvement, community involvement, and recommendations. The student must be a graduating senior, accepted to an accredited college or university, and a full-time dependent of a current REMC member.
The Indiana Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE), recognizing that an engineering education is the foundation upon which the engineering profession is constructed and also recognizing the need for encouragement and financial aid, has established the scholarship program to aid resident students of Indiana who have proven a genuine interest in an engineering career.
To qualify for one of the Scholarships, the applicant must meet all the following criteria and report the information substantiating the applicant's eligibility.

The Indiana Freemasons are dedicated to supporting post-secondary education for their members and families.
The first priority will be given to Indiana Master Masons in good standing and to the sons, daughters, adopted sons or daughters, stepsons or stepdaughters, and orphans of Indiana Master Masons in good standing. Grandchildren are also eligible to apply but will be given secondary priority.
Students must maintain a full-time status (a minimum of 12 credit hours) at an Indiana College or University. Scholarships cannot be used at out-of-state schools.

Each year, IRTAF awards 10 scholarships (one in each Area) to help promote our profession and assist college students who have a passion for the classroom.
Scholarships are awarded to juniors or seniors in an Indiana college or university who are in a program leading to a degree in education.
