CFWabash W. Scott Wakefield Scholarship

The Vice and Wakefield families established the Scott Wakefield Scholarship in memory of their beloved son and grandson who lost his life in a car accident as a young man. This scholarship is meant to support students, who like Scott, are interested in an education in the skilled trades after high school.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduates of Wabash High School in the current year
  • Pursuing a skilled trade objective beyond the secondary level

CFWabash Wabash Baking Powder Company Scholarship

The Wabash Baking Powder Company Scholarship was established to preserve the company legacy as a flourishing enterprise and was once the largest private brand baking powder factory in the world, producing not only baking powder, but a variety of flavoring extracts, gelatin extracts, powdered skim milk, and cocoa for over 200 companies. The Wabash Baking Powder Company was located on the northwest corner of South Wabash Street and Water Street. The building was directly on the Wabash & Erie Canal and was believed to have originally been a warehouse for the import and export of Canal goods and merchandise.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Enrolling in a two or four year institution leading to a degree or career in education, engineering, agriculture, business, or manufacturing
  • Graduate of a Wabash County high school
  • Work experience and have been involved in extracurricular and community activities
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Traditional or non-traditional students
  • Financial need

CFWabash Wabash High School Apache Tennis Scholarship

This scholarship encourages education beyond high school for students who are members of the Wabash High School Tennis Team, and in good standing, during both their junior and senior years. The recipients are selected by the Wabash High School guidance counselor and coach of the tennis team for their graduates each year.

  • Members in good standing of the Wabash High School Tennis Team during both their junior and senior years
  • Maintained a 2.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale

CFWabash William B. Hensley, III Scholarship

Bill Hensley was a CPA, a businessman and an entrepreneur. He worked in banking after college, and when he came to Wabash County, he worked for the Shirt Shed. Mr. Hensley was involved for 28 years in owning, creating, developing, financing, and managing several nationally licensed sportswear companies. And when he wasn’t involved in his businesses, he was pursuing his passion of work with youth and coaching sports, He was an important force in coaching and managing the fields of Wabash Little League. Later he co-founded Gym Rats, Inc. and he organized and coached Spiece Gym Rat basketball teams, giving many players secure scholarships to further their education through basketball. Bill passed away at the young age of 58. His wife Cindy and sons J. R. and Todd, along with family and friends, created this scholarship to remember Bill’s love of athletics.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Wabash County high school graduate with a minimum "C" average
  • Must maintain a "C" average in college
  • Full-time student at any accredited university or college
  • Collegiate sport participant, not including intramurals (proof of participation will be required)
  • Recipients of full-tuition athletic scholarship are not eligible

Charles E. Wolf Educational Trust Scholarship

PNC Bank Trustee of the Charles E. Wolf Educational Trust has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors in Kosciusko County and attend Warsaw Community High School, Tippecanoe Valley High School, Wawasee High School, Triton High School, or Whitko High School.

Applicants to the Charles E. Wolf Educational Trust must:

  • Reside in Kosciusko County, Indiana at the time of application deadline
  • Be a high school senior at Warsaw Community High School, Tippecanoe Valley High School, Wawasee High School, Triton High School, or Whitko High School
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be an active member of a church

The LGBTQ+ Alumni Association has launched the LGBTQ+ Alumni Association Scholarship Campaign. This campaign will dramatically change the lives of students across IU by offering expanded scholarship opportunities and programs. The Parkview LaGrange Hospital Scholarship was established upon the recommendation of hospital volunteers as a way to give back to the community with the funds raised from the hospital’s gift shop and Parkview Health Foundation donors. The yearly scholarship is available to LaGrange County residents seeking a degree or licensure in a health-related field. Three high school senior scholarships are available as well as one adult scholarship.

CFGFW Gertrude B. Eckrich Scholarship

This scholarship is for Bishop Luers and Bishop Dwenger Catholic High School graduating seniors that plan to attend a two- or four-year Catholic institution. The scholarship award is for tuition, fees, books, required supplies for needed course work, or room and board. (Students need not be a member of the Roman Catholic faith to apply.) This scholarship is provided by the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne.

CFGFW Richard & Gloria Baker Fund for the Arts

This scholarship is for Allen County high school students, Sophomore or higher, wishing to pursue a degree in Arts. Richard and Gloria Baker were lifetime supporters of the arts in Fort Wayne. Richard attended the Ray Vogue Art School in Chicago and was a Korean War Veteran, receiving a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He was also a three time president of the Fort Wayne Ballet. This scholarship is provided by the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne.

Allen County Bar Foundation Legal Opportunity Scholarship

The Allen County Bar Foundation Legal Opportunity Scholarship helps students of underrepresented racial or ethnic groups enter or continue law school and prepare to join the legal profession. It is intended for students from Allen County, Indiana or those who intend to work there. Applicants must be planning to take the LSAT and apply to law school, preparing to enter law school, or enrolled in law school. They must also demonstrate financial need. Law students are eligible to receive up to $2,500 for tuition and fees or bar preparation or bar examination fees, and undergraduate students are eligible to receive up to $1,500 for LSAT fees and/or LSAT preparation.

CFWC Diane R. Behrens Nursing Scholarship

Established by retired nurse Diane R. Behrens who was a nurse in Whitley County for more than 30 years. This award is given annually to a Whitley County resident who is a Christian, of good moral character, who is an associate or diploma degreed RN enrolled in an accredited BSN completion program in a college or university in the US or a junior or senior nursing student enrolled in an accredited baccalaureate nursing program in a college or university in the US. This scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of Whitley County.

CFWC Andrew C. Spencer Memorial Scholarship

Created in memory of Andrew Spencer, this scholarship is available to a senior male athlete from Churubusco High School pursuing a four-year baccalaureate degree at any college or university. The applicant must be a four-year participant in at least one organized high school sport, be in the top half of his class with at least a GPA of B or better, and be a member of a Christian church.

CFWC Brandon Wade Minier Memorial Scholarship

The Brandon Wade Minier Memorial Scholarship was established in 2012 to celebrate the life of Brandon Wade Minier. He was a young man of extraordinary talent and personality, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on April 26, 2009.

This scholarship is available to an individual from Whitley County, who is continuing their education in a trade and vocational school, such as but not limited to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, beauty, and culinary arts school.

CFWC Buesching-Tucker Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2012, this scholarship honors Nancy Buesching Tucker and Robert Lewis Tucker. The scholarship goes to any Whitley County resident or any resident that graduated from a Whitley County high school that has aspirations of obtaining a degree in nursing or music. Applicants may be current students, non-traditional students, home-school students, or traditional graduating high school seniors.
