KCCF Dr. Harold Mason Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established by Margaret Mason in memory of her husband, Harold Mason, to fund scholarships for students who are graduating or have already graduated from Lakeland Christian Academy, to assist them in obtaining college degrees in a medical field or in foreign missionary service. Dr. and Mrs. Mason served as missionaries for many years in the Central African Republic. Dr. Mason also operated a medical practice in Warsaw.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

KCCF Selma McKrill Brown Educational Fund

Realizing the benefits of higher education and the cultivation of individual talents, Selma Brown generously created the Selma McKrill Brown Educational Trust. This scholarship benefits worthy students from Kosciusko County. Selma lived from 1898 to 1986. She was married to Dale Brown.

KCCF Paul K. and M. Magdalene Miller Scholarship

This fund was established by the nephew of Paul and Magdalene Miller, in their memory. Paul and Magdalene were lifelong teachers, and Paul was a devoted Kiwanian. Members of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club provided early support of scholarships in Paul Miller's memory and they continue to serve as the selection committee for this scholarship, which provides assistance for those intending to become professional teachers or instructors.

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Kosciusko County resident at time of high school graduation
  • Field of Study: Education
  • Demonstrates financial need

Preference may be given to:

  • Students entering their Junior or Senior year of college

KCCF Ray and Jan Monteith Scholarship

Created by Jan Monteith to provide scholarships to graduates from Kosciusko County high schools who are pursuing education leading to careers in social services, education or human services. Ray and Jan and their family moved to Warsaw in 1966 and opened Monteith Tire.

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Graduate of a high school serving Kosciusko County
  • Attending college in Indiana
  • Field of Study: Education or Behavioral & Social Science
  • Demonstrates financial need
  • Pursuing undergraduate or master degree

 Reviewers will consider the following when selecting a recipient:

  • Pursuing a career in social services, education or human services (i.e. teachers, social workers, nonprofit leaders)
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior
  • Demonstrate an ability to succeed in post-secondary education

 Preference may be given to:

  • Students with a GPA above 3.0 on a 4-point scale (or its equivalent)

KCCF Judy Mugg Scholarship

KCCF Deborah J. Nelson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship fund was created in memory of Deborah Nelson by her husband, Jack Nelson. Deborah was a Kindergarten teacher at Syracuse Elementary School. She loved working with children, being with family and friends, and spending time at the lake. The scholarship benefits Wawasee High School seniors who will major in Education in college with preference given to students who have shown perseverance in the face of adversity.

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Graduating senior of Wawasee High School
  • Field of Study: Education

 Reviewers will consider the following when selecting a recipient:

  • Willingness to work toward a goal and show perseverance in the face of adversity

Applicants must answer an additional essay question explaining how they have overcome an obstacle in their life to achieve a goal.

KCCF Bruce V. Petro and Janet H. Petro Education Endowment

This fund was established by Janet Petro and the late Bruce Petro, in honor of Bruce's parents, Dresdon and Dortha Hammer Petro. Bruce Petro owned a Buick dealership in Warsaw for many years. Dresdon and Dortha Petro had five sons. Dortha was a teacher. This scholarship assists students who intend to pursue teaching.

KCCF Pfeiffer-Rarick Scholarship

Established by Robert T. Pfeiffer and Isobel L. Pfeiffer in memory Isobel’s parents, Frank and Ethel Rarick. Frank and Ethel lived in Warsaw where they raised two daughters. Robert and Isobel were both college educators. They enjoyed playing Bridge, traveling and collecting original artwork. They were members of Trinity United Methodist Church.

KCCF June Reed Nursing Scholarship

This fund was established by the Kosciusko County Nurses Society in memory of Dr. June Reed to provide scholarships to students pursuing nursing. Dr. Reed has an enormous impact on nurses throughout the community and the Hoosier state. She served on the faculty of Indiana University School of Nursing. She pursued ways to improve nursing through legislation and was President-elect of the Indiana State Nurses Association.

KCCF Dave and Diana Reinhart Tuition Scholarship

Established by the Estate of Charles David Reinhart for educational scholarships. Specifically, this fund supports graduating high school seniors from Pierceton or Washington Township in Kosciusko County. The scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in education, or electrical, electronic or digital technology - career paths which reflect the interests of both Dave and Diana Reinhart. Dave Reinhart was a self-taught electronics technician and life-long innovator and entrepreneur. Diana held a master's degree in Elementary Education and taught at Pierceton Elementary School.

KCCF B. Franklin and Eleanore Ringle Educational Endowment

The Ringles wanted to aid as many area students as possible in obtaining a college education. B. Franklin Ringle lived from 1887 to 1979. Eleanore Ringle lived from 1899 to 1989.

KCCF Dr. Richard Sasso Memorial Veterinarian Scholarship

Established by the family of Dr. Richard Sasso in his memory to provide scholarships to Kosciusko County students who are pursuing studies in veterinary/animal sciences. Dr. Sasso was born in Panama. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University and opened Sasso Veterinary Hospital in Warsaw in 1966. He was a founding member of the Warsaw Rotary Club.

KCCF Karo Smith Coy Nursing Scholarship

KCCF Richard and Gladys Stewart Nursing Scholarship

This fund was created through a trust established by Richard and Gladys Stewart. Richard and Gladys operated a successful venetian blind and drapery business in Lansing, Michigan. They retired to Mentone in 1976 to be nearer to Gladys' family. Gladys wanted to establish a nursing scholarship because she was proud of her nieces, who became nurses.

KCCF Max Truex Memorial Scholarship

Memorial gifts from friends and family of Max Truex made this scholarship fund possible. It is awarded annually to a senior from Warsaw Community High School, with preference given to students who participated in track. Max was a runner for Warsaw Community High School and a two-time Olympian, competing in the 1956 and 1960 Olympics. He died at the age of 55 after battling Parkinson's disease for 15 years.

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Graduating seniors of Warsaw Community High School
  • GPA: “B” average or above
  • Participated in high school athletics
