KCCF Jeanette Harvuot Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established by the family of Jeanette Harvuot after her passing in January of 2015. Mrs. Harvuot spent more than 50 years as a teacher, having taught most of those years in the Warsaw Community School system. This scholarship helps graduates of Warsaw Community High School who are pursuing a degree in education.

This scholarship was established by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department to honor Phillip Hochstetler, a detective killed in the line of duty. Scholarships from this fund are awarded to Kosciusko County graduating seniors planning to attend college to study criminal justice.

KCCF Deborah Hohman Animal Care Scholarship

This fund was established in memory of Deborah Hohman to provide scholarships to graduates of Warsaw or Tippecanoe Valley schools to pursue a career in small animal care, or to help with the equipment needs of those desiring to work in small animal care. Deborah was an elementary school teacher. She was fond of dogs and was active in dog obedience and agility clubs.

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Graduate of Warsaw Community High School or Tippecanoe Valley High School
  • Field of Study: Veterinary/Animal Science
  • Demonstrates financial need

 Reviewers will consider the following when selecting a recipient:

KCCF Brady Houck Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established in memory of Brady Houck by many friends and family members. Brady was a senior at Warsaw Community High School when he died tragically in a car accident just before graduation in 2007. Brady was a football player, enjoyed racing go-karts and had jobs at both Biomet and Bogg's Automotive. Preference is given to applicants who are pursuing vocational or technical training.

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Citizen or legal resident of the United States
  • Kosciusko County resident
  • Graduate of Warsaw Community High School
  • Demonstrates financial need

 Reviewers will consider the following when selecting a recipient:

  • Demonstrated work ethic
  • Participation in athletic team activity
  • Work experience evidenced by employment at a summer or part-time job

 Preference may be given to:

  • Past recipients
  • Those pursuing vocational/technical training

KCCF Teresa K. Jones Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established in memory of their beloved daughter, Teri, by the late Robert and Bettye Jones to award a scholarship to a female student graduating from Warsaw Community Schools. A committee of Teri Jones' former classmates recommends the annual recipient. Teri was a news broadcaster at the time of her passing.

KCCF KCH Medical Staff Scholarship

Established with a donation from the Kosciusko Community Hospital medical staff to provide scholarships to Kosciusko County students pursuing a two-year, four-year or graduate degree in a medical field of study related to direct patient care.

KCCF Kay A. Kindig Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established in Kay Kindig's memory. Kay was a secretary for Tippecanoe Valley High School. After she passed away after battling cancer, then high school principal, Charlie Mills, and other friends and loved ones established this scholarship in her honor to provide scholarship assistance to needy and deserving graduates of Tippecanoe Valley High School.

KCCF Dan Kinsey Memorial Scholarship

Friends and family of Dan Kinsey established this scholarship in his memory. Dan was a native of Warsaw. He taught English and was involved in many extracurricular activities at McCutcheon High School in West Lafayette, Indiana. KCCF Andy Kryder Memorial Scholarship

Established by Eric Schaekel and Ben Christoffel in memory of their friend, Andy Kryder. Many friends of Andy's gave gifts to this fund in his honor. Andy was a graduate of Wawasee High School where he was an accomplished swimmer. Andy had a career in finance for many years before becoming a business teacher and swim coach at Wawasee High School.

Andy was married to Colleen. They had three children: Cammy, Nate and Zack. This fund provides scholarships for students from Wawasee High School with priority given to graduating seniors who are on the varsity swim team, and second preference given to graduating seniors pursuing the study of business.

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Graduate of Wawasee High School
  • GPA: 3.0 or higher on 4-point scale (or its equivalent)

 Preference may be given to:

  1. Graduating seniors participating on Wawasee High School’s varsity swim team
  2. Graduating seniors who are pursuing the study of business
  3. Graduates of Wawasee High School

KCCF Ruth Ladd Memorial Scholarship

Ruth Ladd was born in 1897 in Warsaw. Her father was a local doctor and as a girl, Ruth would sometimes accompany her father, by horse and carriage, as he made house calls. Ruth served as the treasurer for the Kosciusko County Chapter of the Amerian Cancer Society for many years. She created this scholarship fund to help students who are pursuing medical careers.

This fund was established by Margaret Mason in memory of her husband, Harold Mason, to fund scholarships for students who are graduating or have already graduated from Lakeland Christian Academy, to assist them in obtaining college degrees in a medical field or in foreign missionary service. Dr. and Mrs. Mason served as missionaries for many years in the Central African Republic. Dr. Mason also operated a medical practice in Warsaw.

KCCF Selma McKrill Brown Educational Fund

Realizing the benefits of higher education and the cultivation of individual talents, Selma Brown generously created the Selma McKrill Brown Educational Trust. This scholarship benefits worthy students from Kosciusko County. Selma lived from 1898 to 1986. She was married to Dale Brown.

KCCF Paul K. and M. Magdalene Miller Scholarship

This fund was established by the nephew of Paul and Magdalene Miller, in their memory. Paul and Magdalene were lifelong teachers, and Paul was a devoted Kiwanian. Members of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club provided early support of scholarships in Paul Miller's memory and they continue to serve as the selection committee for this scholarship, which provides assistance for those intending to become professional teachers or instructors.
