Established in memory of Dale Hughes Jr. by his wife Emilyn, this scholarship honors his belief in education. Dale's family included educators, and he served as a farmer, Steuben County Commissioner (18 years), Prairie Heights School board member (8 years), and Salem Township precinct committeeman. Preference is given to students pursuing agricultural education, political science, nursing, dental, teaching, or business fields. The Steuben County Community Foundation administers this scholarship.

The family of Diana Kay Smith established this scholarship in celebration of her life and as a living memorial. Diana was born in June 1954 and passed away in May 1969 of leukemia. The scholarship is available to a graduating senior of any Steuben County High School, with a preference being to a graduating senior from Fremont High School. Applicant must be pursuing a degree in nursing or health sciences and have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5. The Steuben County Community Foundation administers this scholarship.
