CFDC Dr. James P. Spink Memorial Scholarship

Established in September 2010, this fund was created in memory of Dr. James P. Spink to honor his giving spirit. Dr. Spink, in 1970, founded the Northeastern Community Mental Health Center which serves DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben Counties. In 1979, he established a private practice at the Family Counseling Center with offices in Angola and Auburn. Dr. Spink used his unique talents to help thousands of people throughout his life, whether or not they could pay him. Eligible applicants should demonstrate how nutrition works in their field of study. This scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of DeKalb County. The application is open December 1st through January 31st.

Who Can Apply: Ball State University, Purdue University, University of Evansville, Trine University or Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students

Location of School: Any college or university listed above

Other Criteria: Applicants must currently be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students at one of the schools listed in the Who Can Apply section; be pursuing a degree and a future career in chemical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering or mechanical engineering, or any of their sub-disciplines; demonstrate financial need and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

This scholarship is administered by the Central Indiana Community Foundation.

Physicians Health Plan's (PHP) goal is to provide today’s youth opportunities for continued success as tomorrow’s healthcare professionals. CFHC Andrews First Christian Church Memorial Scholarship

The Andrews First Christian Church Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 2006 in memory of the Church’s closing in October 2005. Priority is given to descendants of members of the church at the time of its closing. The second criterion is students living in Dallas Township and/or north of the Salamonie River in Polk Township. Qualifying students may be enrolled in a 4-year college or university, junior college, vocational or trade school, or in graduate school. The Community Foundation of Huntington County administers this scholarship.

CFHC Daugherty Family Scholarship

The Daugherty Family Fund was established in 2009 in honor of H.L. and Martha Daugherty to provide scholarships to employees, their children, or Warren area students pursuing further education in an agriculture-related course of study. The Daugherty Companies, founded in 1939, sold their manufacturing and distribution portion of the business in 2019 to Ag Express Electronics and the fund continues to support employees and children of Ag Express. The Community Foundation of Huntington County administers this scholarship.

Applicants must be employees (current or retired) of Ag Express, or a descendant of an employee of the Daugherty Companies, Inc.

Second preference is given to Warren, IN residents who major in agriculture.
