Description

This living monument was created to honor Harold “Potch” Wheeler, a well-respected State Senator, who was dedicated to representing the people of Whitley County, Indiana with an honest, down-to-earth approach to government. This competitive scholarship will be awarded annually to a senior graduating from any Whitley County High School who plans to attend college and pursue a career in public service representing the Republican Party, or to a student who plans a career within the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. The recipient will be the individual who best emulates the ideals and personal character traits that Senator Wheeler embodied.

This scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of Whitley County.
