CFWabash Max E. and Grace L. Kester Endowment

Mrs. Kester began teaching physical education at Manchester High School in the late 1950s when few sporting opportunities were available to young women. She was the champion of girls’ sports before Manchester High School had a varsity program for girls. In the early sixties, she established a chapter of the Girls Athletic Association to even the playing field for girls and she dedicated many years to developing female sports.

Eligibility Requirements

• Graduate of Manchester High School in the current year
• Top female athlete in the current year
• Enrolling in a post-secondary degree program or certification program

This scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of Wabash County.
