Description

Dallas Winchester, Sr. was mayor of Wabash from 1984 until 1994. He also served in the Air Forces, on the Wabash Fire Department (1962-1983), and as chief deputy in the Sheriff's Department (1995-2001). In 2001, he received the Sagamore of the Wabash award from Gov. O'Bannon. His son Dallas Winchester, Jr. was a public servant. The scholarship memorializes the lives of these two civic leaders and rewards the leadership skills and traits of students in school and in their community. This scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of Wabash County.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Wabash County resident for the past two years
  • Graduated within the past two years
  • Traditional or nontraditional student
  • Acceptance into an accredited two-year or four-year Indiana institution of higher learning
