Description

This scholarship was established in 2009 by Daniel Emrick in memory of his parents who ran a local music store. Charles taught music early in his career and then became principal of Southwood High School. Professionally, Charles was an educator, but his personal interests revolved around music. He played in bands in a three-state area and then took up performance in Texas where the Emricks retired. The scholarship supports bachelor’s or master’s degree students in the field of education. Applicants are required to describe in writing why they choose education as a career. This scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of Wabash County.
