Description

Charles and Wilma Sanger Shuman were residents of Huntington County, and both farmed in southern Huntington and Wabash Counties. They also valued the importance of education and created this scholarship for graduating Huntington North seniors and non-traditional students. The Community Foundation of Huntington County administers this scholarship.

Applicants must be either graduating high school seniors or former high school graduates from Huntington County. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Preference given to applicants pursuing a career in the following order:

  1. teacher of business education,
  2. teacher of other subjects,
  3. nursing,
  4. engineering,
  5. pre­ med, etc.;

Preference given to full-time students at one of the following institutions:

  • University of St. Francis,
  • Huntington University,
  • Taylor University,
  • Manchester University,
  • Indiana Wesleyan University,
  • IFW
  • PFW
  • University of Northwestern OH

Other institutions within the state of Indiana will also be considered.
