Description

This fund was established by many friends and family of Kailey Zehr. Kailey was a student at Edgewood Middle School when she passed away after battling a lengthy illness. She is remembered for her kindness, perseverance, happy demeanor and love of life. Scholarships in Kailey's memory are awarded to graduates of Warsaw Community High School who exhibit good leadership and citizenship and are active in their school and community.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Graduate of Warsaw Community High School
  • GPA: 2.9 or higher on a 4-point scale (or its equivalent)
  • Demonstrates financial need

Reviewers will consider the following when selecting a recipient:

  • Participation in school and/or community activities or involved by way of attendance or activities through church or place of work
  • Participation in community service through church, service or youth group
  • Demonstrates good leadership and citizenship
  • Demonstrates good work ethic
  • Good attendance at school and workplace if employed

Applicants must answer an additional essay question about how they have maintained a positive attitude while overcoming an obstacle or challenge.

This scholarship is administered by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
