Description

Neal M. Carlson and Joy M. Carlson established this scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to students who are in their junior or senior year of college, seeking degrees in elementary education or special education. Recipients must either be Kosciusko County residents attending any university or college in Indiana OR attending Grace College. The Carlsons established this fund in honor of their family members making careers in education of children and youth.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Citizen or legal resident of the United States
  • Kosciusko County resident who graduated from a high school serving Kosciusko County and attending any school in Indiana OR current Grace College student
  • Field of Study: Elementary Education or Special Education
  • Entering Junior or Senior year of college
  • Demonstrates financial need

Reviewers will consider the following when selecting a recipient:

  • Academic success determined by a passing GPA
  • Demonstrated work ethic
  • Participation in community service demonstrated by active involvement in church, civic, nonprofit service or student organization groups

This scholarship is administered by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
