Description

Dave Carey was a well-respected business owner and friend of the community. He operated Carey Excavating in North Webster for 40 years and Carey Realty in Warsaw for 20 years. Among his many community service activities, Dave was a 14-year board member of Wawasee Community Schools. Dave's father taught him the masonry trade and he felt learning a trade was important for young people. This fund assists Wawasee High School seniors.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Graduating senior of Wawasee High School
  • Pursuing vocational/technical training

Reviewers will consider the following when selecting a recipient:

  • Involvement in sports or extracurricular activities or employment history

This scholarship is administered by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
